Funny Things My Kids Have Said #2739

Youngest Girl Child: I don't like white. I like the white that has colors.

Mommy: White doesn't have colors, honey, that's why it's white.

Youngest Girl Child: Yes, it does. (pause to think) My favorite is the white that is purple.

Mommy: (speechless with laughter)

I use to ask for cake without the bread. (i.e. frosting)

I can remember the day, when I was little, that I figured out that bread and cake had certain similarities. I was excited and explained to our brother S. that bread and cake were the same thing! Which confused him and he asked me what was the cake part then. I thought and decided it must be the frosting.

The next time we had cake our parents were utterly mystified that S. was scraping the frosting off his cake and refusing to eat the cake itself. I quickly realized it was my fault, and I made myself very small and quiet. I figured it our parents found out this was my fault, I was going to be in real trouble.

Besides - after he ate the frosting, he let me eat his cake, and that wasn't a bad thing at all. :)

I thought I'd discovered a new recipe when I combined butter and sugar.

We had a white discussion the other day... I can't remember about what it was but I finally said, 'yeah, that's like Sauruman (sp?) the "White" is it?' My friends think I'm a fantasy nerd. *sigh*
